DE

De has worked in the hair industry for over 25 years. She trained in Australia and has completed her Canadian Red Seal certification. Full of enthusiasm, De takes on a full clientele and manages the day to day operations of the salon.

What De lacks for in stature she more than makes up for with personality. The woman has boundless energy! When she does take a break, you’ll see her enjoying a good latte or having a quick yoga stretch in the backroom.

De is also a certified Iyengar yoga instructor and teaches several classes a week at Bend Over Backwards yoga located on Wesley Street. She’s also an avid trail runner and loves to bike. She doesn’t have much spare time, but when she does you can find her drinking wine and cuddling her kitty, and binge watching her new favourite Netflix series.

ARDEN

As sharp and witty as they come, Arden’s warmth and humour have been a mainstay at Salon D for more than 12 years.

As a Red Seal instructor in the hairdressing program at VIU, Arden unites her passion for hair with her desire to educate and inspire students, bringing vast technical knowledge and creativity to her teaching role.

Deeply experienced, Arden loves building real relationships with each of her clients, listening to their needs, and creating styles that make them feel beautiful.

When she’s not at work or hanging with her husband and two sons, Arden loves exploring the local trails with her beloved rescue pups Louie & Tika, or kicking butt at triathlons- as you do!

GABRIELLE

Gabrielle has been working at Salon D since she was in high school training alongside De before beginning her official training at Vancouver Island University in 2017. She graduated from the VIU hairdressing program in 2017 and has been with us full time ever since.

Gabby is a naturally talented stylist who excels at balayage and highlights. Her meticulous foiling skills will impress even the most critical eye and her naturally sweet and thoughtful nature make clients instantly feel welcome. Gabrielle is not one to sit still.

She is an accomplished highland dancer and has won many awards at competitions around North America. She loves the outdoors and staying fit and healthy are high on her priority list. She also has a popular Instagram account, over 80,000 followers, dedicated to braids and upstyling that she herself has done. You should go check her out @hairstylesbygabby.

KALEY

After more than 15 years immersed in all facets of the hair industry, Kaley joined the Salon D team in late 2023. Born into a family of artists, Kaley was drawn to working with hair as a creative medium.

Kaley is a versatile stylist who brings a natural warmth to everyone she meets. She has dedicated herself to elevating her craft, completing additional training in up-styles, hair tattoos, and straight shaves. She specializes in men’s cuts, beards & mustaches, and loves the challenge of creating the perfect women’s pixie-cut, or a super cute children’s style.

Beyond Salon D, Kaley is a huge animal lover (she used to groom cats!) and is passionate about her family, with her young daughter and pets providing endless joy and countless hilarious stories- just ask her!

PIPER

Piper’s passion for hair began in childhood and her interest never wavered. From watching YouTube tutorials and staying on top of the latest product lines, to practicing styles on friends and family, in her mind, her path was always clear.

A recent graduate of VIU’s hair school, this industry offers Piper a place where her artistry can flourish, alongside her desire to connect with people in a meaningful way.

Piper brings enthusiasm and energy to her work, and she loves nothing more than helping people find their spark through self expression, aka really great hair! An accomplished gymnast and talented athlete, when she’s not busy at the salon, she’s likely working on her tennis game.
